Design Concept Design close to people and the city
Stretching into the sky, embracing the city
TOKYO SKYTREE: A new symbol of the city, supported by ancient Japanese Tradition and cutting-edge technology.
They gently watch over people.
DESIGN CONCEPT
TOKYO SKYTREE is designed to resemble a large tree reaching towards the sky. Its silhouette is inspired by the curves and Convex curves found in Tradition Japanese architecture, representing people gathering and coming together under a large tree. The clear sky and lush greenery evoked by its name itself represent the overall development concept of this city, aiming for a "rich community that is kind to people and the planet." It embodies the wish that an environmentally friendly city will be born beneath the Tower, where people from all over the world will gather and new cultures will be created. The base of the Tower is triangular, taking into consideration the reduction of a sense of oppression and the impact of shadows. Furthermore, it changes to a circular shape towards the top, giving it diverse appearances depending on the viewing angle and location.
A new urban symbol born from Tradition and cutting edge
The base of the TOKYO SKYTREE is made up of a triangle. The number "3" is chosen because it provides stability with the fewest units, like a tripod; its rational shape takes into account the impact of surrounding areas such as oppression and shadows; and it also symbolizes the area surrounded by the Sumida River, Arakawa River, and the east-west axis of transportation.
Furthermore, the silhouette is inspired by the "sori" and " Convex curves " curves found in Tradition Japanese architecture. The graceful curves that change from the top to the base give the Tower a dignified presence and an elegant atmosphere. Moreover, if you shift your gaze from the base to the top of the Tower, you will notice that the basic shape changes from a triangle to a circle. By giving it a variety of expressions depending on the viewing angle and location, it becomes a unique landmark unlike any other in any other city. Born from Tradition Japanese aesthetics and utilizing cutting-edge technology, TOKYO SKYTREE is a new symbol of Tradition and innovation, creating a new landscape that transcends time and space.

The hopes for the Future embodied in the colors
We designed TOKYO SKYTREE not only to be the tallest in the world, but also to be the best in the world in terms of View , seasons, and even in people's hearts.
The colorful dots represent the various "things" and "events" that will emerge from the new Tower, and the excitement of the people who will gather there. All of the colors used are Tradition Japanese colors, imbuing them with the history and culture unique to the area where the Tower stands. When combined with the silhouette of the Tower, the design evokes a "tree" reaching towards the sky, with lush leaves, blooming flowers, and abundant fruit.
