Instructor
Born in 1973 (Showa 48). In 1945 (Showa 20), the first generation, Sōshū Sawai (grandmother), moved from Asakusa to Higashi-Mukojima and opened the tea room "Chihoan". Amidst the turbulent post-war period, she dedicated herself to the popularization of the tea ceremony and flower arrangement, and was awarded the Tokyo Metropolitan Cultural Merit Award.
Masahiko Sawai, the third-generation head of the family, underwent rigorous training at a tea house in Nagoya from the age of 23, and succeeded to the name in 2015. He continues to practice the tea ceremony himself while working to pass it on to the younger generation.

New Tea & Matcha Special Lighting
▲A special design inspired by the refreshing green of new tea and matcha.
Come and have some tea .
A tranquil moment created by the gently falling matcha powder and the circular motion of the bamboo whisk.
The entire process of preparing a cup of tea is expressed through a beautiful display of light.
A special time, when greens overlap and blend together, eventually rising up as a deep fragrance.
Please enjoy that "moment" as a beautiful light show.
