Temporary Closure Due to General Inspection of TOKYO SKYTREE Observation deck Elevator
At TOKYO SKYTREE , operated by Tobu Tower Skytree , two Elevator connecting the 4th floor to the Tembo Deck stopped mid-operation around 8:15 PM on Sunday, February 22, 2026. In one of the elevators, 20 Visitor were trapped inside until around 2:02 AM the following day.
While Visitor experienced illness or injury, we sincerely apologize for the distress caused by being trapped for an extended period.
We have been investigating the cause of the Elevator malfunction from yesterday, February 23rd (Monday, public holiday), to today, February 24th (Tuesday), and we have determined that it is necessary to continue the investigation.
Therefore, we will remain closed tomorrow, Wednesday, February 25th, to continue our comprehensive Elevator inspection.
Refunds will also be issued to Visitor who Purchase advance Ticket for admission on Wednesday, February 25th. Please refer to the PDF document for details.
Regarding operations from Thursday, February 26th onwards, we will announce the situation on the TOKYO SKYTREE Official website by Wednesday, February 25th, as soon as we have more information.
