Regarding the resumption of operation of the TOKYO SKYTREE Observation deck Elevator in winter.
TOKYO SKYTREE had suspended operations of the Observation deck Elevator"Winter" following an incident on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at approximately 8:15 PM, in which a Visitor was trapped inside the Elevator after it stopped working.
Up until now, we have implemented the preventative measures announced on February 25, 2026 (Wednesday) regarding the Elevator in question, and have also replaced the damaged moving cable and conducted a comprehensive inspection.
We will conduct a final inspection, including a test run, after closing time on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, to ensure safety.
The Elevator will resume operation from 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
We sincerely apologize once again for the great inconvenience and concern caused to Visitor and all those involved by this Elevator accident.
TOKYO SKYTREE will continue to prioritize the safety and security of Visitor, striving to ensure that the many Visitor from both Japan and abroad can always enjoy their visit with peace of mind.
